The Beer Fridge

I don't know where this was invented, but I am thinking … Australia?

The beer fridge for the 21st century. No longer content to put the old fridge on the veranda and fill it with tinnies, this one has the beer chilled and on tap.

Mind you, having to trapse into the kitchen for a refil would be a bit of a drag. Any chance we can fit it into an arm chair?

      South Africa vrs Argintina

Well, the 'boks won massively. Rugby is the national sport in New Zealand, but I didn't watch too much of it at home. In Cambodia I see a lot of the games on the ABC.

Next week, the Springboks play the New Zealand All Blacks, and according to the commentators, the New Zealand coach was filming todays game from the grandstand. I guess he can't program his video recorder, either.

        Campaigning in Cambodia

While catching up on my email, I found this old message from the start of the Cambodian Election Campaign.

and for being nice to the Sysadmin

I've mentioned this before, but it's wise to remember where the real power in your IT organisation resides: With the System Administrator. There is a case in San Francisco where an annoyed sysadmin locked city officials out of the new multi-million dollar FibreWAN network, stopping them from accessing various databases including payroll and prison records. So far the sysadmin has the only password and he's not giving it up.

Publication from the International Development Research Centre.

Library and information sciences are experiencing a period of radical change. Today, just as businesses must compete for survival, growth, and market space, librarians and information professionals must assume a more proactive role to cope with increasing competition.
