Power camee on about an hour ago and we have been watching TV to see how bad it is in the city. Out here there has been very little damage. We lost a mirror and a plant pot - and the mirror falls off the wall more othen than not anyway. This time it broke. And the morning paper was late :-)

Little bit of damage in the park. Thats about it.

Seems to be quite a bit of damage in the central city and in some suburbs - generaly older areas, but I think the media is playing it up a bit. Bad but not what I would call severe.

Quake itself was very frightning. Worst I have felt. Let from bed and grabed Sophea and James and huddled in a doorway. Had plenty time to think "wow - this is a bad one". Most of the morning it has been calm - talking to neighbors etc. Seeing the damage on TV is quite unreal - about 5 km away and there are fallen buildings and so forth.

Keep wondering if there is anything I can do - but nothing to do round here. Stay away from town and don't flush the toilet is what we are being told to do.
